Our minors were back in action this evening as they welcomed Murroe/Boher to Mackey Park on an evening that was perfect for camogie. We started off strong and got our first goal of the game in the opening minute as Éle won the throw in and from there scored a goal that just dropped in over the Murroe/Boher keepers head. There was great work rate from both teams and both sides fought hard for every ball. We got our second goal in the 9th minute this time it came from the stick of Sarah who nearly put a hole in the net with the power of the shot. Murroe/Boher never let their heads drop and they still contested for every ball and put serious pressure on our back line who dealt with the pressure well throughout the game. Murroe/Boher got their first score of the game just before half time. Sarah got on the ball again for us and again she had only one thing on her mind and that was goal, she smashed it to the back of the Murroe/Boher net. The teams went in on a score line of Ahane 3-03 Murroe/Boher 0-01.

The second half got underway and there was some great battling done in the middle of the field and in the Ahane defence with Fiona, Molly, Cliodhna, Rachael, Aoife W, Aine and Ella doing great tackling, hooking, blocking and fighting for the ball throughout for Ahane. The Murroe/Boher keeper Sophie Quaid caught some great ball and made some great clearances throughout the game. Scores came from Fiona and Rachael for Ahane in the second half of the game with Murroe/Boher getting passed the Ahane defence in the 21st minute of the second half to get their only goal of the evening. It was a good game of camogie and the girls on both teams showed great skill.
